Co-producer Zoë Rocha (L) and writer Zara Symes (R)
The deal has been widely reported in the trades, having been picked up by Variety, Deadline, and C21 Media, among others.
Her Horror, created by Australian writer Zara Symes, will be financed and distributed by Wild Bunch — the international sales company behind hit series such as Medici, Masters of Florence, whose film arm has financed and distributed critically-acclaimed hits like Oscar-nominated Palme d’Or-winner Shoplifters.
Her Horror has also been selected for the prestigious Mercato Internazionale Audiovisuale (MIA) drama series pitch in Rome. In fact, two projects out of the of the sixteen finalists are being produced by Clipper: the other is Reset, a youth-skewing sci-fi being co-produced with Berlin’s Handwritten Pictures, part of X-Filme (Babylon Berlin, Cloud Atlas) and written by Gillian Park (BBC’s Young Offenders) and Janosch Kosack.
On the Asian front, Clipper has recently concluded a deal with a leading Chinese studio to develop a 24-part TV series with British writer Roland Moore (creator of BBC’s The Land Girls and showrunner of Croton’s Hello, Anyi, the Chinese adaptation of AMC/Channel 4’s Humans), which will be announced in due course.
